CONTINUED PROGRESS
Contacted the participating DOE laboratories (Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring & Research Center “CEMRC,” SREL, and LANL) and all indicated interest in hosting our students for their internships. The current students will go to CEMRC during the summer of 2003.
Arranged for the current students in the program to attend a national radiochemistry conference to be held in Carlsbad, New Mexico July 14-16, 2003.
Student recruitment for the next academic year (2003-04) is well underway through:
- Direct email announcements to various campus departments.
- Recruitment ads placed in the campus newspaper and the Health Physics Society newsletter.
- Recruiting posters at various national meetings.
